Hi EveryoneIt is interesting to read all of the discussions about the b-side material so to speak and also good for us to gauge what we should do for future singles. As it is mainly dedicated fans who buy singles we try and put something there for everone as you all like different things. There have been quite e few requests for some songs from our live show that didn't make the album so we will include on the next single the first of these. 'We Go Out' will be on our forthcoming single 'Star' and we hope to have 'Rock Me' ready for the next one, pretty sure that's not going to be a problem though. The singles may also include accoustic versions or remixes ( a little more in-house this time) In case you were wondering why we include remixes it is because they present the song in a different format which in turn can mean radio play on a station that would never usually play that material. It is also a great format for film placement which is invaluable exposure. Will be interested to see your replies. a.j.mac [This message has been edited by stellar* (edited 08 February 2002).] IP: Logged |

Hi a.j interesting choice for the next single. Its a good track a favourite with a lot of fans quite upbeat and rockin. I was suprised though i think most people me included suspected it would be Are You Waiting. There are lots of potential singles on the album though. Including Rock Me etc sounds fantastic as ive never heard those tracks. And from going by feedback on this board they are good tracks.IP: Logged |

hmm.. i always thought that "are you waiting" would be the third single, but "star" is just as good, and should do very well! I'm a big fan of both new songs and remixes so it's all good for me. I would love to see an acoustic version of "one more day" on a singleIP: Logged |

At first we also thought 'are you waiting' would be the next single but after much discussion and reading of this message board we decided to go with 'Star'. There is no boubt that 'are you waiting' will be a single (possibly the next) at some stage.Everytime we think about the next single there seem to be a lot of choices which is a great position to be in ps will think about that accoustic version of 'One More Day' a.j.mac [This message has been edited by stellar* (edited 08 February 2002).] IP: Logged |

WOOOHOOOOO!i'm glad star is the next single - especially after taken! no offense.. i think it was on coca cola rtr or whatever.. that boh said the new album was more 'rock' than the last. all it takes was alright.. star holds true to her statement far better. with this in mind i feel star will get more recognition, from my point of view at least. personally i dislike those slow flimsy songs. unfortunately most good bands have at least one of these - fiona mcdonald: 'i don't care' and 'anything'. strawpeople: somebody else' and a few others of theirs i think. and stellar:taken. to mention a few still, their other songs make up for these! hehe hmmmmm i might even go buy the star single when its out.. yay! Star will be the next single, I love that song. A.J. does 'in-house' remixes mean you will be mixing them yourself, or does it mean they will be thumpin' house tracks!?! That would be cool, jumping around at my fave club to a house remix of Taken or All It Takes...hehe. IP: Logged |

Thanks a lot,It means a lot to your fans that you listen to us, and take our opinion seriously. You deserve all the success you get. oh and thanks for thinking about the acoustic version of "one more day" ... it's a great song, and any alternate version would be absolutely wonderful because as much as I want it to be, everyone else is telling me it will never be a single, even tho it is a fav of many people on "magic line" [This message has been edited by Stevo (edited 08 February 2002).] [This message has been edited by Stevo (edited 08 February 2002).] IP: Logged |

Yay for extra songs as b-sides!!!! Am glad that we go out and rock me will finally see the light of day. Think its a valid point about re-mixes getting different exposure but personally I think that re-mixes never quite match the standard of the original song.I would also like to see One more day as a single, think its the stand out track on magic line. I don't like the idea of an acoustic version though. The songs got such great energy that I think it would be better captured on a live version. Keep up the good work!! IP: Logged |

personally i think One More Day should be a future single. Just look at the crowd reactions at a live performance when that song is played! eg, big day out, national magic line tour - the crowd just goes crazy, cos its a song about NZ, and the people in it! I think maybe thats why the song 'Home Again' by shihad was so successful aswell. Not neccessarily saying they are similar songs, but when it comes down to it, Nzer's are extremely patriotic about their country.I do think 'We Go Out' will go down very well on the single of 'Star', but maybe it'd be a good idea to play it live a couple more times, as that was what you guys did with 'sorry', and 'california', was it not? it might be a pleasant surprise to sum ppl to hear it recorded, and vice versa with live. Star is an excellent choice for a single, but it would also be cool if you could put a version with that intro bit, that plays live, when you guys are walking on stage...? i love that intro! so glorious! I think thats a tad unfair calling taken a flimsy, slow song. Taken is a song thats in the middle of stellar*s rocky songs, and their slower, somber songs. It really shows off Boh's sexy song writing techniques, and the new sound that magic line has to offer. And i've listened to those songs you listed as slow, flimsy songs aswell, and boy oh boy, its insulting to stellar* to compare a beautiful song like taken to a song like 'i don't care' by fi mcdonald. ...."I don't care about music...." - bad move putting those lyrics in your song! tut tut anyways, i am glad stellar* are still stumbling round the boards, and listenin to our advice! ka pai IP: Logged |

Oh big ups to you Imogen! I totally agree about the intro thing... lengthen the intro of Star. like that one on the tour.... that's the one song I would like to hear live on a single. It builds up so great. It was absolutely the best song to start the show with. It gave me the shivers! SO take imogens advice and also, i agree, One More Day, would make an awesome single!
